I have known Owens since Girls' first record — that was back in 2009. And then I didn't care much for their music except for every now and then thinking about Laura.

But then I had heard that this record was quite good, and gave it a listen; and it's comfortable in the beginning, but it really makes a great case at repeated listens. There are great highlights: the sloppy harmonica in I Know,

It's a good record to shout with every once in a while — Do You Need a Friend is one of the best songs of the year, and it's very cute — I always fall for the it must have been love hook, and the playful piano that goes along with it — and a few minutes later, we are all belting it out:
