I found out about this record around 2014; it was August, along the Coura river, northern Portugal. One of the most cherished, special music festivals. I think somebody had a newstand with some papers, and I got Público, unknowingly getting the periodical friday release of the cultural supplement Ípsilon — which I kept buying for years and years after that. It was among the first exposures to good cultural journalism I had; and yet it came rather late in my life? So that was some sort of gateway into this very interesting world.
I suppose I heard the record back then; it's very soft, very calm, faint, quiet, and subdued. It was re-released by Light in the Attic (they were just starting out?), and it has a great story to it. I have the impression of Sixto Rodriguez having become popular around the same time. Maybe a bit before.
A few months ago, I remember this record. Maybe I was looking for calm, earnest music. It still holds up. A very nice record indeed.
