This book was found at a great bookstore in Vienna, back in 2022 — my first visit to the city, as a great friend of mine was living there at the time. The store was a bit touristy, yes, but with English books only, and there were some really great finds. I had never heard of Arne Næss before, and some of the chapters of the book are very inspiring and accessible, even though others might be a little more theoretical, as Arne was a philosopher himself.
Only recently did I realise that I have internalised some of his attitude towards many things, like non-violent communication and degrowth. Most of it is well summarised in Lifestyle Trends Within the Deep Ecology Movement which is a great entrypoint into his thinking.
I haven't gone through all of the book yet. It later came with me to Slovenia; it was borrowed during most of that period. Great, great book.
