I like the idea of Derek Sivers' now page (and other related ideas and implementations).

It is an invaluable tool to organize myself and to put past and current goals in perspective. It should reflect how I spend most of my time, and help in figuring out what I'd like to do next.

And I have done other things in the past, too.

🌍 where?

Last August, I moved to Denmark...and I think I'll be here for a while. 💌

💡 why?

I get this question a lot — and maybe it calls for some writing on the matter. But, for now...let's just say it had for long been on my mind, and it seems like where I feel best fit if I am based in Europe...

⚙️ and what's happening there?

I am enrolled in the Software Engineering course at SDU; it felt like a good opportunity to enhance my programming. That, and:

  • slowly getting reacquainted with fermentation 🫙
  • brushing up on my SQL via the great PostgreSQL documentation (doing flashcards, trying some stuff out, etc.);
  • working through The Little Typer! I found it in the university's database — had to be shipped from Odense — and having only ever lusted for The Little Schemer, it does seem like a precious endeavor.

In the meantime, due to my being curious (and getting confident and ambitious), my programming spiralled into many other adjacent projects that somehow all interweave around a common domain I find very interesting...

🗣️ jeg kan allerede forstå lidt dansk! Men jeg vil stadig gerne tale græsk...

It would be wonderful not to lose my progress with the Greek language 🇬🇷 (which is was probably at medium-A2 level); but I'm currently delving into Danish 🇩🇰, and it feels like the latter is overwriting the first in my brain.

Given the intentionality of these processes, a tentative language learning page is sprouting, with some thoughts and resources (Anki, Language Transfer, etc.)

📚 on my bookshelf:

So many things! I have just finished notes on How to Take Smart Notes (yes, meta!) — and I'm intentionally putting more efforts in clearing the backlog of books.

Det Umulige Liv
Matt Haig
Humanly Possible
Sarah Bakewell
I had nowhere to go
Jonas Mekas
Language Myths
Laurie Bauer & Peter Trudgill
Tristram Shandy
Lawrence Sterne
Zen Mind, Beginner's Mind
Shunryū & Dixon Suzuki

🤸 and there's more, but...

...I have been a bit disorganised! You can check music records, computers, being around people, literature, etc. (e é claro que também escrevo em português).
